FAQs
Your bill will be emailed to you a couple of weeks before it is due. You may specify the email address which you want it sent to when you sign up and you may call and change it at any time. Please have the bill sent to an email address which you regularly check. If your bill is not paid within a certain amount of days of the due date your internet account will be deactivated.

If you wish to have your bill mailed to you at your billing address, there is a $1.00 charge per mailing to cover the cost of supplies and postage.

2.  How do I make sure I don't have to pay long distance charges on my phone bill?
When you are configuring your system for the dial-up account, you must make sure that you do not include a 1 and the area code in the connection icon properties. Wiredog will not be responsible for any long distance charges on your telephone bill for your internet service. Please check your settings carefully. We will advise you in every way possible so that this problem does not occur.

3.  Is the service unlimited?
While we do not impose any limits on the amount of time per month that you may use our service, these accounts are not to be used for dedicated connections. A dedicated connection is defined as more than 18 hours usage per day or 540 hours per month. Users wishing to stay connected for more than 18 hours per day may be required to sign up for a dedicated account.

4.  How can I pay my Internet bill?
There are several ways you can pay. You may mail your payment to either of our offices, or you may bring it in to pay. Also, we can take a credit or debit card over the phone. We also now offer online payments. Please note, when you make an online payment, it is not immediately applied, but should be applied within a few hours.

5.  Why do I get kicked off the Internet, and how can I stop it?
There are a couple reasons why you may get disconnected or "kicked off" the Internet. First of all, check your Outlook Express settings.
  • Open Outlook Express and click Tools at the top
  • Then click Options and then click Connection when the box opens up.
  • Make sure the box that says "Hang up after sending/receivng email" is unchecked.

If that doesn't do the trick, there is either a program on your PC requesting a disconnect or you are getting interference. In that case, make sure you unplug your PC from a phone line that has a FAX machine, cordless phone, answering machine, satellite or surg protector hooked up to it. Your phone cord may also be bad and can be replaced.

Call waiting my also disconnect you if you are receiving phone calls while you are online.

    6.  HELP!  My computer has gone crazy!
Bring it in to our office and we will try to fix it for you. We have a bench fee of $35 that covers the first half hour of labor. After that, the charge is $50 per hour. Bring all your disks that came with your computer in with you when you come. You can call us for more information.

(Prices subject to change without notice)

  • 7.  How do I restore the Internet Explorer animated Globe?
You may download IETweak 2 here, install the application and follow the directions.

Download and run/install the program. Then, you will click on "Appearance", then "Animation" and then click "Restore Defaults" and that will get the blue dog out of the top right-hand corner.

Wiredog does not offer any tech support with this program or accepts any responsiblity in loss of data on your pc.

    8.  What is the price to get my PC fixed?
Here is a ball-park estimate of what it may cost to repair your computer. The cost will vary from case to case, but these are average costs. Prices are based on a $35 bench fee that covers the first half hour of labor. Each hour after the first is $50, billed in 30 minute increments.
